Baseball: Atascocita’s George named District 21-6A MVP – Houston Chronicle

Atascocita’s Kendall George was named the District 21-6A Most Valuable Player this season.

The centerfielder helped the Eagles reach the area round of the playoffs as a sophomore.

George, who is committed to Arkansas, had a .455 batting average for the Eagles. He also had 17 stolen bases and on base percentage of .640. The left-handed batter also had only one strikeout for the Eagles this season.

North Shore’s Jacob Tanguma was named the Newcomer of the Year.

The sophomore shortstop had a .389 batting average with one home run and six RBI for the Mustangs this season.

Meanwhile, Summer Creek’s Ahmar Donatto was named Utility Player of the Year. The junior had a .472 batting average with 11 RBI at the plate for the Bulldogs this season. On the mound, Donatto went 2-2 with 28 strikeouts with a 2.66 ERA in 27 innings of work for the Bulldogs.

Atascocita coach Eric Matthew was named the Coach of the Year.

Matthews guided the Eagles to the District 21-6A championship and finished the season 17-10.
